Wiki101

This article is about a fictional subject from the Spiral Games Universe.

"An emperor is many things, depending on who you ask. I would say an emperor is a servant, to a people, to a nation, to a world. To rule with care and kindness, discipline and wisdom, that is the way of the Emperor."
―Yoshihito to the Wizard[src]

Yoshihito is the Emperor of MooShu and a founding member of the Council of Light, representing his world. He was once made gravely ill by Malistaire Drake after refusing him the Spiral Key to Dragonspyre he had been entrusted with, which sent the Wizard on a quest to heal the Emperor's mind, body, and spirit with his sword, water from the Cave of Solitude, and fruit from the Tree of Life. He was briefly possesed by a Jade Oni but was saved.

Year of the Red Comet[]

Pointright Main article: Year of the Red Comet

In the Year of the Red Comet, Zafaria was shrouded by the shadow of Morganthe and called out for help. To meet the moment, the Council of Light was formed, with Yoshihito joining with Merle Ambrose, Lydia Greyrose, and Diego the Duelmaster. The Council fought with King Achebe, King Ztu Zebu, King Kaleb, and Queen Elissa to break the Spider Temple and drive out Morganthe. After this, the Council of Light continued to keep watch for new shadows in the Spiral, believing evil to never be destroyed but only driven back. Yoshihito wrote down his recollections of the Council of Light's formation in the Scrolls of Light, which he stored in the Jade Palace's Tower of Absolute Being under the guard of the Jade Oni, Mika Skarka.[1]

Training Moolinda Wu[]

Moolinda Wu was a child of the House of Wu, a clan of gardeners responsible for tending to the Garden of Eternal Brightness, Yoshihito's personal sanctuary. She showed herself to be skillful, mastering the most complex gardening spells with ease. This led to Moolinda's sensei, her uncle Rookwon Wu, seeking an audience with Yoshihito for his counsel. The Emperor was impressed, and declared he would take a personal role in Moolinda's education. She served as his apprentice, mastering Theurgy while also continuing to tend to the Emperor's garden in the hours she was allowed to.

When the death of Sylvia Drake occurred, Merle Ambrose sent a heartfelt request to his old friend, asking him if he would part with his greatest pupil to fill in the void that had been left in Sylvia's absence. He agreed, as did Moolinda after conferring with her father and legendary gardener Frookwan Wu, who lived in Hamamitsu Garden.[2]
