WikiProjects (WPs) are collaborative efforts between groups of fellow editors to improve certain aspects of Wiki101 by producing quality article content together. WikiProjects are open to new and veteran editors alike, and there are no activity requirements in order to join one. Editors can join as many WikiProjects as they would like to, which align in the area(s) of focus they are interested in. The area of focus which is covered by any specific WikiProject is referred to as the project's "scope." The scope of any WikiProject should be well-defined and not too narrow or too broad. It is expected and okay that articles may overlap in the scopes of more than one WikiProject.

Each WikiProject has a "project leader," but this person will ideally serve in a managerial role for the project as a whole, and will not micro-manage other editors. No one "owns" a WikiProject, as the project itself and the articles covered by it belong to the community. Being part of a WikiProject or a leader for one also does not award you any kind of special status within the Wiki101 community. The idea at the core of WikiProjects is collaboration, and so creating new projects should only be done when there is deemed to be significant enough interest in that specific subject/scope. See below on how you can start your own WikiProject.

How to start a WikiProject[]

If you would like to start a WikiProject, first pick a subject/scope and ask around the Wiki101 community to find like-minded editors who share your interest in supporting the same article content. There is no set requirement for how many editors MUST be on board for a WikiProject before it is created, but three or more is probably best to ensure the project stays relatively active. Once you feel you have the right amount of support from your fellow editors to start the WikiProject, leave a message on the Message Wall of MegaZeph (Chris DeathRider) describing your idea for the WikiProject, and if approved, you will be allowed to create a page for the project. Keep in mind that you do not "own" the WikiProject or any of the articles covered by it, as Wiki101 is freely editable by everyone. Being a project leader or member also does not give you any special status within the Wiki101 community.

Existing WikiProjects[]

These are the currently existing WikiProjects here on Wiki101. You are free to join as many WikiProjects as you would like. You can join a WikiProject by signing your name on the page for that specific project. You must have a registered Fandom account in order to join a WikiProject.

If any WikiProject has become inactive, you may request to take over as project leader by leaving a message on the Message Wall of the current leader.

Discord chats[]

In the Wiki101 Discord server, there will ideally be channels for each WikiProject which currently exist, which verified editors (Wiki101 Discord users who have the @Verified role) can gain access to via a role menu in the #wikiprojects channel.
