Administrators can block registered and anonymous users (accounts and IP addresses) to prevent them from editing Wiki101. Blocks are preventative measures rather than punitive and are intended to stop disruption and enforce Wiki101's policies. Block lengths may vary and are up to the discretion of the administrator performing the block, and also depend on the severity of the disruption.
Grounds for blocking
This section lists some of the most common reasons for why a block may be issued. This list is not comprehensive nor is it concrete, and administrators are not bound by these specific cases.
- Vandalism – Any deliberate attempt to lower the quality of the wiki or damage its structure.
- Spam – Inserting unwanted links or advertisements to other sites or services. Sometimes users will not be blocked by an administrator for this and instead by Fandom's Spam Obliteration and Prevention (SOAP) anti-vandalism and spam team.
- Adding pages or any other content that violates copyright.
- Any behavior that damages Wiki101 and its community, including harassing or insulting other users. This can also include repeated messaging to users, ignoring their requests to be left alone, or asking for personal information such as someone's age, location, etc.
- Having an offensive or misleading username or avatar and refusing to change it when asked.
- Impersonating a real human being.
- Breaking any policies.
