From the Journal of Stallion Quartermane:
“Today, I hunted the elusive Lemur! Surely some of them must remain after their homeland vanished. And yet I’ve discovered none! Have I lost my talents after so many years? In eighteen hours, I plumbed the darkest depths of eighteen worlds – from the Drains of Wizard City to the Aqueducts of Wysteria to the ichor-filled swamps of that bug world with the antler mice. Nary a Lemur to be seen.
I found rumors only, tales no doubt stretched to incalculable extremes of tallness in the telling. In Monquista, they speak of the Nervous Ones, who sacrifice bananas to the mad mollusk in the sky. In Zafaria, there are tales of the Ring-Tailed Wraiths; legends state they appeared to the chiefs of every tribe with temptations and boons. In Avalon, Lemurs were once outcasts, followers of a False Divinity, said to be twenty feet tall with leather wings and fire-spitting hands.
What has become of these wide-eyed rascals? It would seem that answer awaits me on another adventure.”
