Thaumaturgy, also known as Ice, Ice Magic, or the Ice Arts, is the Elemental School of Magic that focuses on persistence and "slow but steady" progression and advancement. Practitioners of Ice, known as Thaumaturges, are known to exhibit great patience and strength, but in turn can become rigid and inflexible. Thaumaturges of Ice use Chants to bargain or plead with Ice creatures.

History[]

Origin[]

In the era of the First World, known as the Days Before, the children of Grandmother Raven, the Titans of Ice, Fire, and Storm, fought constantly in a conflict known as the Titan War. The War culminated in the destruction of the First World, and for this terrible cataclysm Bartleby sung the Titanic Lullaby and put each of the Titans in an eternal sleep so that they could never fight again.

By the time of the creation of the Spiral, only the Titans' offspring remained. The Giants (also known as the Ice Giants), descendants of the Ice Titan, carried on the violent legacy of their ancestor and battled the Dragons until the wars decimated both races. The Giants retreated to the world of Grizzleheim, to the island of Wintertusk, where the few that remain still live.[1] From the Ice Giants came Thaumaturgy.[2]
