Sybil is the so-called Tree of Knowledge in the Arcanum.

Biography[]

Sybil was either moved from the Husk where the others of her kind live or was grown at the Arcanum.

Following the Wizard's defeat of Grandmother Raven and Grandfather Spider, Sybil woke up from her slumber and told everyone onboard that the only thing they should fear is Nothing.^[1]

When the Old One was sucked into the Cavity at the Von Trap Estate in Karamelle, Sybil saw him inside of it. When he returned to the Arcanum and exclusively came into contact with the Wizard, he asked them to speak with Sybil and ask her about Lemuria. Attempting to speak with her, Zander explained that they would never get Sybil to answer them, as she only speaks when she deems it necessary. Zander attempted to communicate with her telepathically, but he was left with a headache.^[2]

Personality[]

"You'll never get Sybil to answer that way. The Tree of Knowledge only speaks when she deems it necessary. They say she stands still in the raging river of all truth. Every fact in existence streams by her. I sometimes try to see it flow in her mind. Alas, the river rushes too quickly, each fact a single molecule. She sees all of it, but retains none of it."

Sybil usually always asleep, until she feels like she has information that needs to be shared. According to Zander, who has telekinetic abilities, Sybil "stands still in the raging river of all truth," with every fact in existence streaming by her. However, the metaphorical river rushes too quickly, as each fact is a singular molecule of information, and so she sees all of it but is unable to retain any of it.^[2]
