Biography[]

Subodai was born in MooShu to his mother and his father, the Khan Toghon. He was the grandson of the Khan Ogudai. As a child, Subodai was raised on the history of the Golden Horde and the legends of the great Khans, which he believed he would take his place among someday. This would not happen as planned, as Subodai's father Khan Toghon made too many enemies among the other Khans, which led to much infighting and eventually a bitter war between Subodai's clan and the clan of Khan Sartaq. Subodai's clan was decimated in the war, as clan member Khan Tokta could not marshal any allies to help in their fight.

As Subodai watched his clan be destroyed by the clan of Khan Sartaq, his enemies did not sentence him to death unlike the others, as they believed Subodai's power would be useful. Instead, he became a slave. He was passed around between clans until he was given to Khan Khidir, who just sold Subodai to the Armada for blasting powder. The Armada locked Subodai in a prison cell onboard one of their ships. Subodai would have an encounter with a prisoner, The Pirate, and later join their crew.
