The Spirit of Ignorance is an Undead who dwells inside of his "super secret sunken sanctuary" in Crab Alley, Wizard City, accompanied by the Benighted Revenant, Burned Out Soul, and Feckless Soul. He encountered the Wizard and expressed his disgust towards their appearance, inviting them into a duel with him that he would ultimately lose.[1]

- The Spirit of Ignorance was originally added as a Level 20, Rank 5 Wooden Skeleton Key Boss added to Wizard101 in the April 2019 update to coincide with the revamp of Crab Alley in the same update. Defeating the Spirit of Ignorance gives you the badge Dispeller of Ignorance.
- For the Summer 2022 update, the fight was updated to include three more tiers as part of a rework of the Skeleton Key boss system, with the highest tier dropping the new reagent Azoth. The lowest tier was changed for Levels 1-15, with the second tier being Levels 16-50, the third tier being Levels 51-109, and fourth tier being Levels 110-150.
