Shadow Creatures are a sentient species in the Spiral which were created by Grandfather Spider from his imprisonment within the Black Hole in Khrysalis. The creatures include Spider's three children; the Rat, the Scorpion, and the Bat, but also other creatures of Shadow like the Shadow Sentinel, Shadow Seraph, Shadow Shrike, Shadow Trickster, Dark Fiend, Dark Nova, and Dark Shepherd.
