Sandiago is a retired nomad and alcamist from Mirage who was part of the Arkanum before the Great Schism, later becoming one of the founders of the Cabal alongside the Old One. He notably traveled to Wallaru with the Old One when both were Scholars at the Arkanum, and they participated in a Walkabout into the Dreaming where the Old One would gain the inspiration to build the World Synthesizer, leading to the creation of Lemuria through the stolen fragments of various worlds of the Spiral. The compound mental effects of the Great Schism and his perceived allowance of Lemuria's creation led to Sandiago retiring in Mirage. Extending his life through the use of potions and tonics, he would be alive many years later to assist the Wizard with stopping the Cabal and Grandfather Spider during their time in Mirage. Some time later, the Wizard was reunited with Sandiago and the two were paired together on a mission to go on a Walkabout to the Dreaming, with the intention of using its waters to instill Dasein with a much-needed sense of self and purpose following the conflicts of Novus. They were successful in this goal, though not before thwarting Freddie Kroaker's plan to break down the Great Barrier and use the Dreaming to restore the First World.[1]
