Occupation: RaiderGrandson of the legendary Khan Ogudai, Subodai quickly gained a reputation as a cunning hunter and bold warrior. He was raised on the legends of the great khans and the glorious history of the Golden Horde. Subodai was sure that someday he would take his place among the Khans. Sadly, it was not to be. Subodai’s father, Khan Toghon, made too many enemies: eventually infighting among the khans led to a bitter war between Subodai's clan and the clan of Khan Sartaq. Khan Tokta could not marshal any allies, and so Subodai’s clan was decimated.
Subodai fought so well in the final battle, that he was not sentenced to death. Instead, the young warrior was bound into slavery. Rather than breaking his spirit, the degrading life of a slave made Subodai’s resolve even stronger. Subodai was passed from clan to clan, until finally Khan Khidir sold him to the Armada in return for blasting powder. Subodai brooded in his prison cell, longing to take his rightful place among his people not as a slave, but as a Khan! Fate, however, would reveal a different destiny to him when he was freed from his cell by a fellow prisoner...
