For the character used as Chestney's alias, see Fitzhume.
Robert "Rob" Chestney, also known by his alias "Fitzhume," is an American video game writer and designer who served as Lead Content Designer and Lead Writer for Wizard101 from January 2015 to March 2017. He was integral to developing the MMORPG's third narrative arc, known as "Arc 3," though he was only around for the full development cycles of the Polaris and Mirage expansions, leaving KingsIsle Entertainment before the release of the two-part Empyrea.
Chestney wrote dialogue for the two worlds he was present for the development of and also co-directed VO recording sessions. Chestney began his professional career in 1997 working at CNN, where he stayed for nearly a decade as a writer and later producer, his career switched to game development in 2006 when he was hired as Senior Writer at BioWare, where he would begin working on Star Wars: The Old Republic. In this position he helped form a lot of the game's narrative foundation and designed missions and wrote dialogue for the first episode of the Jedi Knight story. He also wrote the Threat of Peace webcomic series published by Dark Horse Comics. In 2012, Chestney was hired at ZeniMax Online Studios during the development of The Elder Scrolls Online and designed quests and wrote dialogue for the base game, also helping with the casting of major characters. He left ZeniMax and joined KingsIsle Entertainment before the release of the Orsinium DLC.
After his time at KingsIsle, Chestney has gone on to work for Daybreak Game Company, Pocket Gems, Ubisoft Signapore, and Amazon Games. He currently is the lead for quest and narrative design on the MMORPG New World.[1]
