Novus is a surreal and newly forming world in the Spiral. The formation of the world was combined with the appearance of strange shadowy rocks over the city of Catmandu as well as in the skies of several worlds of the Spiral, including Marleybone. The rocks all connect to each other through magic into Novus itself. The major powers of the Spiral took notice of the formation of Novus and visited the world, prompting the Wizard to go there and preserve the new world from political corruption.

• Novus is the third world in Arc 4. It released in Wizard101 on November 30, 2022.
• Novus is based on Surrealism.
  • The idea to base the art direction of Novus on Surrealism was devised by Art Lead Karl Holbert when the writing team came to him with the plans they had for the world's storyline.
• The core idea for the storyline of Novus dates back to the end of development on Empyrea Part 2, as revealed by lead writer Sam Johnson during KingsIsle Live! on September 30, 2022. Johnson implied that the world had originally been intended to be the first world of Arc 4 rather than Karamelle, but it was decided that the world needed more setup.
• The first name that the writing team came up with for the world that would later be named Novus was Slate, a reference to a "clean slate," but the name never felt right. They eventually came up with the name Novus from the Latin word novus which primarily means "new," but has other definitions.
