Michael W. Sears (born c. 1983)[1] is an American video game writer, designer, and voice actor who held the position of Senior Narrative Game Designer 1 at KingsIsle Entertainment from 2011 to 2025.[2] He was the primary writer and "Loremaster" of Wizard101 beginning in 2017 with Empyrea Part 1[3] and part of the writing team for Pirate101.[4] He voices many characters in both MMORPGs, including Sparck, Quizzler, Moo Bu, and Mario di Mario in Wizard101 and Mr. Gandry, Milo Graytail, and Albano in Pirate101.[5] In addition to writing and voice acting, Sears served as a designer for the games.[3][4] Sears started off as an intern at KingsIsle around the time of the development of Grizzleheim for Wizard101, after neighbor and KingsIsle creative director J. Todd Coleman offered to pay him in some way to use his voice acting talent after Sears had lost his job and was facing the possibility of having to sell his home and relocate.[6]

- ↑ In the Voice Acting Roundtable with Voices of the Spiral and DemonAxe, Mike Sears said he was 26 years old at the time of losing his previous job and being hired at KingsIsle, which was around 2009 since he said it was a "few months" after he had read lines for the Wizard101 Grizzleheim expansion. This would mean he was born around 1983 if he was 26 years old in 2009.
