Karamelle is a world in the Spiral located among the Candied Isles, a group of islands between the lands of Nodor and Penguinonia. Known for its edible landscapes, the world's population is dominated by Hamsters, Fairies, and Nibbelung, though emigrated races such as the Gobblers also live there. The world is known for being the biggest producer of sugar in the Spiral, with over three hundred types traded between the various worlds. It is the homeworld of notable individuals such as Lydia Greyrose, Professor of the School of Ice at Ravenwood School of Magical Arts.

The corporation Nana's Olde Fashioned Karamelle Delights, led by the Grand Nana, was founded in Karamelle, and over several decades eventually grew large enough and amassed enough power that it controlled most of the world, employing nearly everyone. With the enacting of the Happiness Initiative, the company's many employees were overworked and the company grew more and more authoritarian, as Nana's goals shifted to eliminating competition and expanding to the entire Spiral. To fight back, the organization W.I.T.C.H. banded together the people of Karamelle to overthrow Nana's regime and restore the world to what it once was. After exposing Nana's wrongdoing to the entire world, W.I.T.C.H. staged a coup against her company and arrested her, leaving Karamelle in the hands of the people she for so long oppressed.

History

Birth of Lydia Greyrose

Lydia Greyrose was born in Karamelle, the half-sister of an older and younger sister also believed to be from the world, who were witches.

Brothers Bonbon trouble

Shortly after founding Ravenwood School of Magical Arts with Bartleby, Headmaster Merle Ambrose traveled to Karamelle on his search for the best and brightest practitioners of magic. While there, he was jailed by the Brothers Bonbon, who put him inside of a cage. Lydia Greyrose intervened and freed him, and the two quickly grew close.

The population of Karamelle is largely Hamsters, though there is also a significant Fairy population. The Gobblers are an immigrated species that live entirely on the island of Gobblerton, isolated from the rest of the world.

Trivia

• On November 30, 2010, Professor Greyrose (Kiersten Samwell) revealed on the Wizard101 Message Boards that she was from Candy World, a land of "cookie roads, chocolate rivers, and candy cane trees."
  • With the release of Ravenwood Roll Call: Professor Greyrose on April 2, 2015, Greyrose hailing from "Candy World" was retconned, and it was established that Greyrose actually hailed from the "picturesque, fairytale town" of Karamelle.
• The Karamelle Knight set; the Karamelle Knight Helm, Karamelle Knight Armor, Karamelle Knight Boots, and Karamelle Knight Sword, were items that could be dropped from the Gingerbread Pack, which was released in Wizard101 in December 2018.
• On July 30, 2020, KingsIsle officially announced via KI Live that Karamelle would be the first playable world in the new three-part fourth arc in Wizard101.
