Jackalopes are a species in the Spiral. The sentient variety can be found in an unidentified world which Arcanum Balance scholar Jaki Whisperwind hails from, while non-sentient Jackalopes, which are kept as pets by pirates, can be found in Cool Ranch. Subspecies of non-sentient Jackalopes include the White-Tailed Jackalope, Rime Jackalope, and Winter Jackalope, the latter two being hybrids.[1][2]

- The non-sentient Jackalopes made their first appearance in Pirate101. Jaki Whisperwind, the first sentient Jackalope, was introduced to Wizard101 with the addition of the Arcanum in 2015. As there has been no canonical distinction made between the two forms of Jackalope seen in the Spiral thus far, this article assumes they are variations of the same species.
- The Jackalopes are based on the real-world mythical creature of the same name, which is part of North American folklore. It is described as a jackrabbit with antelope horns, which are the two creatures that make up the jackalope portmanteau.
