A crime siege broke out in the Heap following the introduction of Lemuria into the Spiral and the influx of Mana and Lifeforce from the Spiral that the world experienced as a result. The boost in Mana resulted in the increased presence of Mana Wisps in the Heap, which the city's feuding gangs, including Doctor Prune's Irregulars, Prim Reaper's Gray Reapers, and Pips Mooless' Moo Crew, looked to hoard so that they could be the only ones capable of casting Spells and divide the city into turfs, effectively leaving those outside of the gangs helpless. Dog Tracy, along with his assistant Tessa Truehart, worked to establish law and order in the city and lock up the gangsters before their feuds could escalate into an all-out war.[1]
The Wizard arrived in the Heap during their search for the final Attunement Stone needed to fully open the Harmonic Gates in Telos and gain access to the World Synthesizer.[2] They quickly found themselves intertwined in the ongoing siege and inquired with Dog Tracy about the Old One, but were passed off to Tessa Truehart, from whom they learned of the existence of a secret Mana font that had once been accessed by the Golden Lion.[3]
