Hanshiro Tamazaki was a retired Samoorai who spent his leisure time at the Subata Teahouse in MooShu. He was questioned by a pirate on the location of The Book of Six Rings, a manual on sword strategy which he had checked out from the Library of Contemplation at Subata Temple, prior to it being ransacked by the Amber Horde. When he was reading it in the Paths of Penance, he was attacked by Ninja Pigs, who took the book as well as his wallet.
