Grimsnes BurntBlack was an apprentice to Professor Memphis of Ravenwood and a secret ally of the time meddler known as the Maestro. Together, BurntBlack and the Maestro attempted to "burn down" Ravenwood from inside the School of Fire in order to permanently change the future. When the Wizard and the Professor went back in time to fix the timeline, they helped Falmea fight BurntBlack in the Tower of Fire as part of her second test to join the Fire School. BurntBlack thought that surely the Maestro's interference would have caused Falmea to join and stay at the Ice School, but the Wizard and Professor helped her find her way. Ultimately, BurntBlack was defeated in battle however his fate is unknown.
