The Great Sky Train Robbery[1] was a four-way heist operation orchestrated by Nigel Braxton Brixton III onboard the sky train Monumental Express traveling through Cool Ranch which was ultimately part of Brixton's scheme to pay off the intense debts he was burdened with.

Brixton gave insider information about the train's priceless fuel made out of jewels to four different Cool Ranch gangs; the Buffalo Wings, Felonious Fillies, McCoil Brothers, and Rooster's Roasters. The marshal Johnny Law caught wind of the situation early on and requested the backup of the Wizard, who would prove useful when the robbery began, during which they used their magic to fight their way down to the front of the sky train while Johnny Law solved the case of why the robbery was happening in the first place.

After a climactic battle between the Wizard and the four heads of the Cool Ranch gangs, Nigel Braxton Brixton III was framed with setting up the scheme from the start.

Background[]

"Howdy! I take it you're the Wizard we requested. Name's Law. Johnny Law. And you're here to help protect this ol' hayburner."
―Johnny Law to the Wizard[src]

At some point, the Monumental Express was constructed in order to connect the islands of Cool Ranch. Capable of traveling across the Skyways without the need of Windstones or Spiral Keys, the train ran on fuel consisting of melted emeralds, diamonds, rubies, and platinum, as well as a newly discovered element dubbed Expensivonium.

Believing the expensive fuel of the train The infamous marshall Johnny Law requested the backup of the Wizard, bringing them to the world of Cool Ranch to hop aboard the train and protect it on its maiden voyage.[2]

Robbery[]

"Two different gangs, huh? Daddy always said 'one broom-tailed horse is bad luck; but two, that's a plan.' We got ourselves a conspiracy, Wizard. And they were makin' for the jewels, which means the fuel. We gotta get to the front of the train."
―Johnny Law to the Wizard[src]

Not long after lift-off, a thud was heard from the roof. Johnny Law and the Wizard went to go investigate, where they found out the McCoil Brothers had boarded the train. The McCoil Brothers explained that since Ratfield's Health Potions beat out their father's snake oil, they were forced to turn to darker means to make ends meet. After threatening the Wizard, the Brothers fought them but were bested by the Wizard's magical capabilities.

Futher ahead, Johnny Law and the Wizard came across the Rooster's Roasters, who were progressing towards the front of the train to get the jewels. Johnny asked the Roasters how they planned on escaping with the gems once they got them, as Chickens could not fly. The Roaster retorted that they could fly if they wanted to, to which Johnny cited a situation with a Roaster named Roscoe for why this wasn't the case. This angered the Roaster, and he then told Johnny Law to stay out of his way, lest he want to share Roscoe's fate, initiating the fight. The Roasters were beaten, and with two gangs Johnny began to suspect that the robbery was a conspiracy.

Even further ahead, there was an encounter with the Felonious Fillies. Johnny Law inquired how they were able to get aboard the Monumental Express, to which Felonious Felicia answered horse feathers. She saw Law and the Wizard as being in the way of their heist, and so she and the other Fillies attacked, but were defeated.

At the last part of the train, the Wizard and Johnny Law came across the Buffalo Wings, who Law expressed he had known prior, describing them as a "wild bunch." One of the Buffalo Wings agreed with his assessment of them, asserting that they owned the skies, and that with their flying machines nothing could catch them and the train was theirs. Johnny Law was unamused, and told the Wizard to defeat them, which they did.

Right after defeating the Buffalo Wings, Johnny Law noticed and was confused by the Monumental Express slowing down. One of the Buffalo Wings called Johnny a fool for thinking they would only steal the fuel for the train, as they are sky pirates. Johnny realized what this meant, and ordered the Wizard to get inside as being on the rooftop would not be safe while the train is landing. While inside the Lounge Car, the train touched down at a station, which Johnny noted was not where the train was supposed to end up. He speculated that the Buffalo Wings came for the whole train, and likely were taking it back to their boss. Johnny had no doubt their boss was waiting for he and the Wizard outside of the train, so he was prepared for a fight and asked the Wizard if they were ready as well.

Outside the train, it was discovered the train had landed at Dusty Springfield Station, and that the four leaders of the four gangs were waiting for Johnny Law and the Wizard to arrive. In a big battle between the gangs and the Wizard, the four gang heads were no match for the latter's magic.[2]

Aftermath[]

"Only one way all these varmints could know when to attack: inside information, information only you had. So why'd you tell 'em?"
"Because I built a train powered by diamonds! Imagine my debts! Creditors don't even send bills; they went straight to threatening my legs. Ticket sales weren't covering expenses, so I gave it to this rabble... for a small finder's fee... from each gang."
"And in so doing, you fought Johnny Law. And Law won. Tip of my hat to you too, Wizard. 'Til next we meet."
―Johnny Law[src]

Following the battle, Johnny Law was able to deduce it was not possible the four gangs could have all went after the train on their own, blaming Nigel Braxton Brixton III for the situation. Nigel was offended at the accusation, but Johnny went on to explain that the only way all of the gangs could have known exactly when to attack was if they had been given inside information, and assertively asked Nigel why he told the gangs. Nigel fessed up, saying that he had crippling debt from building a train powered by diamonds, and that instead of sending bills the creditors went straight to threatening him. Since ticket sales weren't covering expenses, Nigel gave the train to the gangs so they could find the jewels, for a small finder's fee. Johnny said that in doing so, Nigel had fought Johnny Law, and Law won. Johnny thanked the Wizard, before giving his farewell.[2]
