"Azteca is laid waste! Still her children hide from the fiery ruin raining on their cities. Some trade despair for madness and worship the crying sky! Rent are the heavens by their screamed prayers, cut through by the songs of grief and mourning."
Gwyn Fellwarden[src]

The Cult of the Crying Sky, also known as simply the Crying Sky, is a cult of Aztecosaurs from the world of Azteca whom worship the comet Xibalba after its descent upon their homeworld caused a perpetual state of apocalypse.[1] The Crying Sky's first notable encounter occurred when Priestesses of the cult captured Captain James T. Pork and took them inside their Shrine of the Crying Sky in the Zocalo, prompting a rescue from the Wizard and Pork's trusted companion Beans.[2] Following the awakening of an ancient comet-like being from within Xibalba, the Cult of the Crying Sky dubbed the creature Hunhau, meaning "Death,"[1] after a deity believed by ancient Aztecans to be a personification of Death itself.[3] The Crying Sky wished to spread what it saw as Hunhau's truth to the rest of the Spiral, and the High Priests of the cult holed themselves up in the Xibalba Wastes, the hidden heart of Xibalba's devastation, feeding lives to Hunhau as energy to make it grow even stronger.[1] The Wizard and their Guild would ultimately face and defeat four of these High Priests; Ixta, Yetaxa, Autloc, and Cameca, and used their polymporphed forms to take on Hunhau itself.[4]
