The Black Hole was once the ancient prison of Grandfather Spider and his children. It was the deepest hole in the First World, and the abyss that Grandmother Raven cast Spider down into. It was here that the Spider shaped his dreams and negative emotions into shadowy progeny. Progeny that would one day be released onto the Spiral to plunge it into utter chaos.
In desperation to shatter the magical high ground of the shadow queen Morganthe, the Wizard believed the words of the Wharf Rat Captain known as Captain Taylor Coleridge. He spoke of an ancient weapon that the Spider Magi supposedly hid away. After retrieving the Unlocking Band necessary to create a web ladder down to the Black Hole, and despite the warnings of the Arachna and the Darklings, The Wizard descended down the abyss and opened it up. Thus finally releasing the Spider and ending its millennia long imprisonment. It is currently abandoned ever since the events of Khrysalis.
