Anne Merrill Toole is a Writers Guild Award-winning creative writer who provided additional writing for the base game of Wizard101 in 2008 as part of her partnership Writers Cabal with Sande Chen.[1] Toole has since written for other notable video games including The Witcher, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Days Gone,[2] the second of which nabbed her a Writers Guild Award.[3] Toole notably wrote the iconic Malistaire cutscene in Dragonspyre.[4]

Anne Toole formed Writers Cabal with Sande Chen and the two writers were hired as contract writers for Wizard101 to provide additional writing and quest design[5] for the game.[1] In March 2009, Toole and Chen parted ways.[6]
